Dec/Jan Rise Above Rocket: Gabe Ballard
Gabe is in the third grade at Scranton Elementary. He was nominated by Allison Riddell. Mrs. Riddell said that Gabe is such a sweet student and classmate to have. Gabe always volunteers to help a classmate or teacher out if he sees they need something. He uses his manners and is always very respectful. Gabe always works really hard in class and tries his best in all he does.
These students exhibited outstanding academic, social, and emotional skills throughout the month. If you see these kiddos out in public, be sure to give them a pat on the back or a big hug and tell them you are proud of them. Go Rockets!

Dec/Jan Rise Above Rocket: Sarah Davis
Sarah is in the third grade at Scranton Elementary. She was nominated by Allison Riddell. Mrs. Riddell said that Sarah is always well behaved, uses her manners, and strives to do good both inside and outside of the classroom. Mrs. Riddell also said that Sarah is a good friend to others and a joy to have in class.

Carlee is in first grade at Scranton Elementary. She was nominated by Andrea Hammers. Mrs. Hammers said that Carlee is an excellent student and friend. Carlee is such a big help to her classmates and Mrs. Hammers.

Madison is in the fourth grade at Scranton Elementary. She was nominated by Amy Schluterman. Mrs. Schluterman said that Madison listens and follows directions. Madison is also very thoughtful to her classmates.

Marisa Blaschke and Joseph Blaschke were guest speakers in 8th grade today to talk about medical ethics for our The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks unit. Thank you for sharing your medical field knowledge with our students.

Congratulations to the students making honor for the second nine weeks! And to those making honor roll for first semester at SHS!



SHS will honor seniors and their parents on Thursday, February 3. Games begin at 5 p.m. with junior girls. Senior night will take place following the junior girls game before the senior games begin (approximatley 5:45-6). Congratulations to all SHS athletes!

The Oark game scheduled on Thursday, January 27, has been moved to Tuesday, February 8. Senior high games only and will begin at 4 p.m.

Due to the continued rise in Covid cases, Scranton School District has opted to remain closed through the end of this week. School will resume on Monday, January 24, 2022. Students will not have assignments for these days, as we will make these days up on-site. Those dates will be announced ASAP. All basketball games scheduled for the remainder of this week will be postponed. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families, but feel it is in the best interest of everyone.

The basketball game scheduled tonight at Guy Perkins has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 20.
1998 Ford F-150 for Sale

Due to the number of faculty and staff members out with Covid, Scranton School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 18 and Wednesday, January 19. These day will be made up at a later date. Students will not have assignments to do. The basketball game at Guy Perkins on Tuesday, January 18 will be postponed. The game tonight (1/17) will be played. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our parents, but we have exhausted all options and are left with no choice. Stay safe!

Basketball update: Nemo Vista games canceled January 14 have been moved to February 1.
Scranton School District will pivot to virtual learning (AMI day) on Friday, January 14. Elementary students will have work sent home with them. High school assignments will be via email or Google classroom. Basketball games are canceled for Friday night. Classes will resume on Monday, January 17.

Opal Pistole basketball tournament at County Line next week has been canceled.
University of the Ozarks is hosting a FAFSA Night at the Paris Community Center on January 24, 2022 from 6-8pm. They will be helping anyone and everyone that is interested in attending ANY COLLEGE with the FAFSA process.

Basketball update 2: Games against Sacred Heart tonight have been postponed to Monday, January 17.
