April Rise Above Rocket: Izabella Kuykendall Izabella Kuykendall is in the fourth grade at Scranton Elementary. She was nominated by her teacher Laura Murray. Mrs. Murray said, “Bella is always so sweet and helpful to me and other students. She helps other students in any way she can.” Congratulations to Bella Kuykendall for her generosity and helpfulness inside and outside of the classroom. April Rise Above Rocket: Parker Bauer Parker Bauer is in second grade at Scranton Elementary. He was nominated by his teacher Jessica Wilson. Mrs. Wilson said, “Parker is very hard working in class. He displays excellent manners to teachers and students. He is a friend to everyone in the class and wants to see everyone succeed. He is always eager to work with struggling students. He is very organized and helps the students around him stay organized. He always does his best, and wants to know what he did wrong and learn from his mistakes.” Congratulations to Parker Bauer for his excellent manners, and his drive to always work hard no matter what. SHS Rocket baseball district tournament this week at County Line has been moved up a day. The Rockets will play in the first round on Wednesday (4/27) at 6 p.m. If we win on Wednesday, we will play in the championship game on Thursday (4/28) at 4 p.m.

Thank you to Scott Boone, Clayton Dodson, and Cindy Hall for speaking to second grade about their careers. Students were able to see real equipment that these parents use on the job and ask questions. SES wants to give a big thank you to all that participated in career day!

Thank you the Marshall Gattis, Courtney Wood, Greg Schluterman, and Keteshia Seiler for coming and talking to Mrs. Hammers and Mrs. Chastain’s class about their careers. Students were able to see once in a lifetime pictures and ask questions to learn more about each career.

Congratulations to one of SHS's math teachers, Mrs. Kimberly Griffin, on being awarded the Arkansas High School Teacher of the Year 2021-2022 by the Oklahoma-Arkansas Section of the Mathematical Association of America. Mrs. Griffin does an outstanding job and we are proud she is a Rocket!

ACT Aspire testing Thursday and Friday of this week for the 3rd and 4th grades. April 21 & 22, 2022

Congratulations to Tyler Schroeder for finishing first in the 400, Mattie Roper for finishing second in shot and third in disc, and to Phoenix Mertin for finishing third in the two-mile. Way to represent the Rockets at the senior high meet in Clarksville yesterday!

9th and 10th grades will being ACT Aspire testing tomorrow morning, Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

The buses will be leaving school a few minutes early today. Expect your child to be home 15 minutes earlier than normal. If you usually meet the bus somewhere to pick your child up, please be there at least 15 minutes earlier than normal. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to a funeral service being held today (4/18) at 2 p.m. in the gym, we are changing up the dismissal routine for HIGH SCHOOL only. Student drivers and high school walkers will dismiss at 2:30 today. Bus riders will dismiss at 2:50. HIGH SCHOOL car riders will dismiss at the normal 3:10. Parents picking up HIGH SCHOOL students will need to park east of the agri building near the baseball field and bus garage for today. ELEMENTARY routine WILL NOT change today.
