Huge congratulations to both our Girls & Boys Golf Teams for taking 1st place in the District Tournament today!

👏 Special shoutouts to:
🌟 Elly Strobel – 1st Overall Individual Girl
🌟 Urijah Terry – 2nd Overall Individual Boy

The girls will play in the 1-A State Tournament at Mountain Ranch on Monday, Sept 29.
The boys will play in the 1-A State Tournament on Monday, Oct 6, at Turkey Mountain.

🎓 Today our Scranton Seniors attended the College Fair at the University of the Ozarks!
It was a great opportunity to explore future options, meet with college reps, and start thinking about the next step after high school. We even had the chance to visit with some Scranton alumni while on campus! 💜🤍

🎉 Congratulations to Scranton High School senior Alexander Harmon on being named a National Merit Semifinalist! 🎉

Yesterday, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors now have the opportunity to compete for nearly $26 million in scholarships next spring.

Alexander is one of only 141 Arkansas seniors to earn this prestigious recognition for 2025. We are so proud of his hard work and dedication! 👏

SSD would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to AAM and SHS alum, Sabrina Bailey, for their incredible generosity in donating over 900 food items to support our Backpack Program. Through our partnership with Helping Our Kids, this program provides food bags for students in need to take home, and their kindness will make a lasting impact on many families. 💜💛 We are so grateful for alumni who help give back to their community!
