The 8th grade English classes have been exploring the world of medical ethics while studying The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. Today, Marisa Blaschke-Kin and Joseph Blaschke visited Scranton High School as guest speakers to provide firsthand knowledge and insight based on their individual experiences and expertise on this topic. In an open discussion setting, the students were asked to consider a multitude of real-life ethical dilemmas. The students greatly enjoyed this activity and learned a great deal about the difficulty associated with ethical dilemmas in the process. Thank you Marisa and Joseph!

On February 15, Mrs. Dixon's Market & Analytics class & FBLA members, along with Mrs. Wewer's Skills Trade students attended a tour of the Hanesbrands Inc. manufacturing facility in Clarksville.
Thank you Hanes for allowing SHS students to see a real-world example of the manufacturing industry and hear different occupations available within the company. It was also interesting to be able to apply business concepts learned in the classroom to what we learned on the tour about product development, human resources, and other business concepts.
