Rocket basketball kicks off next week! Purple & Gold games are October 13!

AP Chemistry just finished VSEPR (valence shell electron pair repulsion) theory by modeling different molecular geometries with balloons! It has been a fun time in science at SHS lately!

Chemistry students are also studying how the forces of attraction between particles affect bulk scale properties and conducted a lab to measure the boiling point of several common household liquids. They have deduced that the substance with the highest boiling point must have particles that are held together by the strongest forces of attraction.

More pictures from Physical Science yesterday!

Physical science students are studying how the forces of attraction between particles affect the properties we see and interact with on the bulk scale. They used force meters to measure the force it took to rip wet wipes apart and used that information to infer which wet wipes had the strongest forces of attraction between their particles.

7th grade science students are studying natural and synthetic materials and got to synthesize their own gummy worms in class yesterday!

Bus routes may be affected with the paving of Highway 197. Please be patient as we may be running a little behind if we happen to run into the paving crew.
No School on FRIDAY!
