January 2025 has been designated as School Board Member Recognition Month, a time to honor the dedicated individuals who serve on school boards across Arkansas and contribute to the success of students and schools in our community.
School board members are vital to the strength of our public education system, volunteering their time and talents to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education. These individuals are locally elected leaders who represent the voices of students, families, and community members, working to shape the future of education in Arkansas.
Thank you to the Scranton School Board of Education members for their service to our district - Adam Fritsche, Michael Joe Johnson, Joe Koch, Carolyn Rhinehart, and Ryan Rogers. We appreciate you all!

Junior boys time change for Saturday's game in the Opal Pistole.
As a precautionary measure, Scranton School District will be closed on Friday, January 24, 2025, due to the extremely high number of students and staff out with flu and other illness. Let's make sure we're taking all necessary precautions at home to stay healthy and prevent the spread of illness. SSD will use banked minutes from the extended school day to make up this day. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding!
SHS will honor 2025 Senior athletes from ALL sports on Friday, January 31 @ 5:30 p.m.

Bus routes back to normal today!
Due to some of our roads still remaining to risky to drive our buses loaded with students on, the bus routes for Thursday afternoon and Friday morning will remain as they were on Thursday morning. We will reevaluate midday on Friday and hope we can get down all our the roads we need to by then. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our parents, but the safety of our students is our main priority!

Thursday MORNING (1/16/2025) bus routes will be the same as Wednesday afternoon. Any changes for Thursday afternoon will be sent out after checking the roads again.

SSD will be OPEN on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with limited bus routes ran.
Buses will run on the main roads, but will not be traveling the dirt roads. If you'd like to bring your child to meet the bus, buses will be at the following locations.
Bus #1 (Mr. White - Subiaco) No side roads, meet at Outpost in Subiaco.
Bus #2 (Mr. Cook/Blamey - Bluff/Patterson Bluff Rd) Normal route
Bus #3 (Mrs. Strobel/Mr. Coronado - New Blaine) No side roads, meet at Dinner Bucket.
Bus #4(Mrs. Cox - Dublin) - No side roads, meet at Johnson Freewill Baptist on corner at Dublin.
Bus #5 (Mr. Miller - Prairie View to Midway) Normal route, except Ellsworth Road.
