Scranton Elementary Library is holding a Read-A-Thon this year during Read Across America Week!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday March 2, 2026.

About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/VXExGG/1?utm=email and following the simple instructions.

We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

SSD will be CLOSED for Presidents Day on Monday, February 16, 2026.

SSD will be IN SESSION on Friday, February 13, to make up one of the snow days we missed.

Bus Route Update 2/5 until further notice

Limited bus routes continue. We appreciate your understanding!

Bus routes will remain limited through Wednesday morning for sure. We will reevaluate for afternoon routes on Wednesday.
Bus #1 to Subi - Normal except NO Trusty Lane
Bus #2 to Bluff - Normal
Bus #3 to New Blaine - Hwy 22 to Dinner Bucket and back through by St. Scholastica to Dublin Rd. No dirt roads.
Bus #4 to Dublin - Cane Creek & Dublin only side roads traveled. No other dirt roads.
Bus #5 to Midway - Normal

Limited Bus Routes for Monday, February 2, 2026
Bus 1: Hwy 197 to Subiaco driven by White/Schluterman - will NOT travel any dirt roads, will run to Logan County Bank at Subi and back to school. Pickup at bank at 9:15am.
Bus 2: Hwy 109 to Morrison Bluff to Patterson Bluff Rd driven by Cook/Blamey - will run normal route.
Bus 3: Hwy 197 to Dublin driven by Schouweiler - will NOT travel any dirt roads, will run to the Garrison Road turnaround and back to school. Meet at Garrison Road corner at 9:10 a.m.
Bus 4: Hwy 22 to Dinner Bucket driven by Strobel/Coronado - will NOT travel any dirt roads, will run down Hwy 22 to Dinner Bucket and back to school. Meet at Dinner Bucket at 9:15 a.m.
Bus 5: Hwy 109 to Midway driven by Miller - will run normal route.

We understand if you cannot get your child to the bus stops we have available. If you are unable to get your child to the bus stop or to school, please contact the office (833) 938-7121 after 9 a.m. SSD appreciates your understanding!

Scranton School District will be OPEN on Monday, Feb 2, 2026.
We will have run limited bus routes (more info to come soon) and will begin class at 10 a.m.
The cafeteria will not be serving breakfast.
If you are unable to get your child to a bus or to school, contact the office to let them know.
